The objectives of the assignment was to assess the availability of sanitation and other supporting infrastructure in the schools particularly for girls, to understand the causes leading to non-usage of toilets, perception and awareness amongst the students and teachers about sanitation and to assess the feasibility of construction of sustainable toilet infrastructure including bio-toilets. The study was supported by FICCI as part of CSR activity and carried out across 252 Government schools in 24 Mandals of Chittoor district.
