A Research Study on Migration-Threat to Polio Eradication, 2012, Unicef

The study aimed to understand whether migration is a threat towards sustaining India’s status as a Polio-free nation. Towards this, the study assessed the immunization status of children aged 0-5 years belonging to migrant families. Further the study assessed the families/parents’ Knowledge, Attitude and Practices related to vaccines administered to children of this vulnerable population against preventable diseases including polio as part of Routine Immunization. The states covered under the study were Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal and Maharashtra.
