The 8th CMS VATAVARAN’s nomination jury was held for three days at the Institute for Studies in Industrial Development (ISID), Vasant Kunj in New Delhi. The nomination jury of this edition comprised of 24 eminent personalities from widely divergent sectors and streams. Stockholm Water Prize 2015winner and popularly called the Water Man of India, Mr. Rajendra Singh, was the Nomination Jury Chairperson.
CMS VATAVARAN collaborated with Dastkar to be a part of their Environment Month celebration called Galli- e- Khaas in June. Special award winning animation and short duration films were screened at the Galli-e-Khaas every weekend during this event.

The fourth travelling edition of film festival went to Ahmadabad.
The festival was inaugurated by Chunnibhai Vaidya and the Guest of Honor was Dr. S N Subbarao Director, National Youth Project and Chairman of ICYO(Indian Commitee of Youth Organizations. The festival took place at National Institute of Design, Paldi, Ahmedabad.

The film screening took place at Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan. A total of 350 students participated 50 different schools in the painting competition held at Jawahar Bal Bhavan, Hyderabad.

The film screening took place at S.M Joshi Hall, Pune. Mr. Kiran Purandare who has spent 500 days in Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary and is the author of two books on conservation and livelihood issues in North East Maharashtra attended the festival.

Shri J Hairnarayan, Chief Secretaryy, Andhra Pradesh, lit the inaugural lamp at Hyderabad CMS VATAVARAN 2006. The inaugural function saw the auditorium full to its capacity. Around 2455 people attended this three-day festival from different sections of the society including school and college students.

The Guest of Honour, Mr. Mahesh Bhatt was part of the inaugural ceremony which took place at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre, Srinagar. Over 2500 people attended the festival and took keen interest in the different activities in two days.

CMS VATAVARAN Travels 2006 took to Chandigarh’s Tagore Theatre with special screenings for nearly 2000 children across the city and its vicinity.
The festival was inaugurated by Principal Secretary to Govt. of Punjab, Department of Science, and Technology & Environment. An expert was invited for each session to discuss topical environmental issues with the audience. In all 3263 people participated during the festival. This included 2021 school students accompanied by 173 school teachers (from over 50 schools) and 484 college & university students accompanied by 27 college (from 12 colleges) & university lecturers.
