Evaluation of a multi-pronged intervention to improve access to safe abortion care in selected districts of Madhya Pradesh-A baseline study, 2013, Ipas Development Foundation

The baseline survey was undertaken in the intervention districts of Dewas and Hoshangabad and in the control district Damoh to assess and capture the knowledge, attitude and practices related to medical termination of pregnancy by women in rural Madhya Pradesh. The evaluation methodology is designed to assess the impact of the proposed intervention and for measuring variations in primary outcome indicators (KAS & service utilization); overall and relative efficacy of two interventions districts with respect to a control district. A detailed household listing exercise was carried out in each of the sample (111) villages to identify households with eligible respondents. A total sample of 740 married women (15-39) in each of the intervention and control districts was covered in this survey.
